Friendship bracelets...when this is mentioned, the first material that comes into my mind is yarn. I have received many yarn bracelets before. Yarn bracelet is said to be a symbol of friendship, the tie that bonds it, a promise of loyalty and trust. As mushy or as childish as it may sound, I think that yarn bracelets really can be similar with friendship. Everyday, we are evolving into a different person through life challenges and trials. In our journey through life, most often than not, the travel becomes lighter if we walk along it with a friend. Like the yarn bracelet, which is an adornment in our wrist, the friends we have also make our life colorful. Comparable with the yarn bracelet, which is made by twisting threads through knots, friendship is entwined with the life's ups and downs, loops and intersections, and is bonded with each other's different attitudes and characteristics. As colorful as the threads of a bracelet, friends also comes in different colors. These friends make us better individuals by honing us through the different situations we have to deal with as they show their true colors. Types of friends may also be evaluated just like the types of yarn bracelets. An easy braid yarn bracelet, which is a soft, simplistic design that looks very beautiful in our wrists, is like the kind of friends who are there when we are at the peak of our lives and are there to celebrate success with us. But as simply made as the easy braid yarn bracelet, these friends easily break the bond whenever we are on our downfall and is in need of their support. These friends do not last, but still form part of who we are. On the other hand, a knotted band bracelet, which is a classic, chunky diagonal yarn bracelet and is composed of threads weaved into diagonal rows, can be the same as those friends whom we can't live with and can't live without. Like the knotted band that is created through an assortment of knot types and styles to use throughout consistency, the bond that ties us with these kind of friends are so strong that even we often have disagreement with them and we have lots of different views and points in life, we both know that we can depend and trust on each other. There is also the chunky friendship bracelet, type which is formed by using several strands of thin threads or thicker fuzzy yarn and weaved into sets of double knots. This type of bracelet can be put side by side to speak of the type of friends who are stays with us through thick and thin. These friends share with whatever we have in our lives, may it be laughters or tears, success or failures, joys or sorrows, they are there to back us up and pull us back when we hit the bottom of the pit. This type of friendship endures the test of time and withstand all the trials and problems along the way by being there for one another. Just like the chunky friendship bracelet, this one lasts longer. All in all, I think that just like yarn bracelets, wherein we can choose the way we will make it, to tighten the knots or to loosen it, we all have our means to make every friendship work and last forever. Friendship, as colorful and as weaved as the yarn bracelets, can be nurtured and taken care of in order to last the test of time in this fashion we called LIFE
