Take another hemp strand that is twice the length of the first strand. Make a crease at midpoint of each strand by folding it in the middle. Now, knot the creased midpoints together.

Arrange the four strands of hemp twine such that two relatively shorter strands lie in the middle and the larger strands on each side.
